Interface converter - RS232 / analog and USB / RS232  are available as an optional equipment. Elevation and speed can be controlled by an external ECG or Ergospirometry with analogue voltages of 0 - 5 Volts (or 0 – 10 Volts) at the separate socket.

 

Furthermore analogue output signal for elevation and speed of the running machine as well as an analogue signal for the heart rate of the subject is available for host equipment. So with this interface converter a complete analogue communication is possible.

Beside this a directly connected printer is possible as well. Analog communication is possible with the interface converter, which is optionally available. The protocol h/p/cosmos coscom for the RS232 interface and the coscom.dll are available for download at www.coscom.org

A list gives an overview of the compatibility of the RS 232 interface at all h/p/cosmos running machines to ECG-, Ergospirometry systems, Blood-pressure monitors and PC software programs.

 

For any interface connections for medical application a potential isolation based on IEC 60601-1 must be established between the interface ports of the running machine and the host device. For example via opto-coupler.

 

Always use IEC 601-1 approved potential isolation components when linking medical devices via interface.

Also available for adaptation to PC, ECG or Ergospirometry systems is  a small and handy running machine-simulator with key board and display, which simulates all functions of the h/p/cosmos running machines controlled via RS232 interface.

Connecting cable RS232 to PC

The h/p/cosmos connecting cable is available for 5 m, 10 m and 15 m.

For connecting your PC to the Running-Machine you need an interface cable (optional equipment) 9-pole Sub- D (male - female)  

 

With crossed transmission-receive-cable (PIN 2 and PIN 3).

 

To be used for example with h/p/cosmos para graphics, h/p/cosmos para control, PC ECGs, Ergospirometry Devices.  

For control via USB interface an optional converter (USB-RS 232)  is available at h/p/cosmos.
For control via USB interface the processor on the PC must be Pentium 1.8 GHz or higher.
