DIN IEC EN 60 601-1
When individual medical devices (e.g. treadmill and ECG) are connected to a medical system (e.g. via interface cable), all individual devices must be additionally connected via additional potential-equalization-cable in "star-connection". Furthermore the entire medical system has to be connected via an additional potential-equalization-cable to the potential-equalization-bar in
the medically used room / facility. During installation, connecting or disconnecting, the terminal must be disconnected from the power supply! Protection against electric shock has to be provided in the finished product/device.
In accordance with DIN VDE 0100 part of 710: an addition potential equalization is necessary in consulting/therapy rooms and operating theatres.
